PMBA has continued to grow over the last 12 months and as a result a number of positions are available that will support the continued delivery of a safe, inclusive and quality basketball experience for all ages and skills. 

GAME MANAGER

Closes 10 May 2024

This role will work under the Technical Officials portfolio to manage the professional, smooth running of the PMBA competition schedule each evening and ensure referees are supported for every game. The Game Manager will liase with referees, mentor volunteer score bench officials and ensure all games are run on schedule, with adequately qualified referees and officials on each court. The role ensures the practical implementation of codes of behaviour within the competition setting. 

With the Winter 2024 competion running four nights a week the role is casual, generally involving a shift of four to six hours on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening. Applicants should indicate availability when applying.

MEMBER PROTECTION INFORMATION OFFICER

The Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) provides information and guidance on complaints procedures - they are the 'go to' person for members who want to discuss problems at PMBA, particularly if they are considering making a formal complaint to PMBA or BNSW. This role is paid as an honorarium.

Coaching Expression of Interest 

  • PMBA are looking to introduce more coaching support for players in the junior domestic competition, both supporting teams during games and offering training and skill development. in game and in addition to games for junior domestic competition teams.
  • Development program coaches help deliver the Aussie Hoops and Intro to Basketball programs. They are also likely to be called upon to deliver sporting schools programs, one of demonstrations in schools and holiday programs. 
  • Junior coaches (preferably Year 9 and above) offer additional support to the Aussie Hoops program while being mentored in their own coaching skill building.
